How I transformed a complete beginner into a salsa star on you tube

Acorde hacer un video con You Tube. Invite a una estudiante que frecuentemente tomaba mis clases y que tenia el potencial de convertirse en una gran bailadora, ella acepto acompanarme en el proyecto.
Desafortunadamente un dia antes de que empezaramos la filmacion recibi un mensaje de ella comunicandome que por motivos ajenos ya no podia participar.
Hice la primera parte del video solo, donde introduje los pasos basicos. Al siguente dia tenia que filmar con una pareja, asi que llame a varias de mis amigas companeras de baile y por supuesto ninguna de ellas estuvo disponible de momento.
Frustrado llegue a la biblioteca y hable con Sulema [la directora de la biblioteca] hacerca de mi problema. Ella me dijo que buscara entre las personas presentes en la sala y ver la posibilidad de encontrar a alguna candidata.
Me sente en la sala de lectura y note a una joven que estaba ahi tranquilamente leyendo. Inmediatamente fui a hablar con Sulema y le pregunte si esta damita se interesaria en el proyecto. Ella dijo "no se, pero dejame hablar con ella".
Se acerco a ella, me presento, le hablo del video proyecto. Pero Britney nos contesto "Yo no se bailar salsa" a lo cual yo respondi " tu eres la persona perfecta para esto, sera una autentica clase de salsa para principiantes"
Le di la informacion y Britney acepto. Llegue al lugar de la filmacion una hora antes. Estaba preocupado de que quizas ella no se presentara. Para mi alivio Britney llego cinco minutos despues de la hora.
Mi siguiente reto fue convertir a una inexperta a que aprendiera a bailar los pasos basicos de la salsa, en el mismo momento en el que ibamos filmando. Pense , "aqui es donde tengo que demostrarme que tan buen instructor soy". Ademas Britney no habla espanol, asi que tuve que instruirla en ingles y luego conversar en espanol con ella durante la filmacion. Britney solo tenia que decir "si". En solo dos horas hicimos los videos que estan en You Tube. Una vez mas comprobe que soy bueno ensenando. Tengo la esperanza de terminar la filmacion, poniendo todas las partes juntas y al final combinar todos los pasos basicos al ritmo de la salsa.

I agreed to do a video for you-tube. I invited a student who was coming often to the classes and had a potential to become a great dancer and she said she would be glad to help me on the video.
Unfortunately one day before we started to shoot I got an email from her that said she was unable to participate.
I did the first part of the video by myself where I introduced the basic steps. The following day I needed to video with a dance partner so I called several of my friends but none of them were available to help me.
I came to the library all frustrated, talked with Sulema (the library's manager). She told me to look around and see if anyone in the library might be a prospect for a partner. I sat down in the reading area of the library and noticed a young lady sitting in one of the chairs quietly reading. I went over to talk to Sulema and asked if she thought this young lady would be interested in filming the video with me. She said I don't know so but, let me talk with her.
She approached her and introduced me and told her about the video project. Her response was "I don't know how to salsa" I said; you are the perfect person for this; it will be an autentic salsa class for beginners. I gave her all the information and she agreed to go ahead and do it.
I got to Copa an hour early, I was worried she might have second thoughts and not show up. To my relief she got there five minutes after the hour.
Now, my big challenge was to make a complete beginner learn on the spot and on an on going process, as we were shooting the video I thought, “here is where I have to prove how good I am at teaching”. Besides that, she doesn't speak Spanish so I had to train her in English and then talk to her in Spanish during shooting. All she had to say was , " si ".
In only two hours Brittney and I did all the clips that are on you tube . One more time I proved to myself : I am good at teaching. I hope to do the last part of the video sometime in the near future where we would be putting it all together and dancing with music.
